“Joe Pinter is my Grandpa. He is on the left in the photo holding the German flag. Grandpa was in the 9th Armored Division and was both at Remagen Bridge and the Battle of the Bulge. I don’t know who this man with him is, but the picture is believed to have been taken at Remagen. Maybe it’s the father or grandfather of someone reading this post? He never talked about the war with me. He died when I was 11.
I know he played baseball for the Army in addition to the armored division. I also know he was originally in the second Calvary, then the army got rid of the horses and grandpa went to the armored division. Here’s an early colorized picture of him. And here he is with his baseball team and the corresponding roster.”
