I’m beyond excited to come across this website, much of which is in Polish which I do not speak.
However, do open this page to see many pictures of those who served with my 101st Airborne father, David Clinton Tharp. Dad was a radio communicator as were others in the regimental headquarter’s unit who served with Colonel Cole, Colonel Michaelis and Colonel Chappuis.
There is a large photograph from January 1943. Dad is not in that picture. But for those of you who have read my father’s wartime letters in the book Comes A Soldier’s Whisper, you realize that he was transferred to the 502nd PIR in March 1943. For the first time, I was able to see a picture of Jack Ott, who was Dad’s very close friend along with Thomas Pastorius and Robert Harle, all of whom have passed away.

Look for upcoming and special feature stories on these wonderful men. We had photos of many, but the names were not included. Let the research begin and may their life stories unfold!
