Herb Griffin recently turned 90 years young.
As a special thank you for his service, we shipped him a copy of Comes A Soldier’s Whisper containing my father’s wartime letters written as a 101st Airborne paratrooper from 1943 to 1945. Herb was also a part of the Normandy Invasion, and fought all the way to the battle of St. Lo where he was seriously wounded and sent back to England. The doctors were going to amputate his right arm, but he “begged and pleaded” for them not to. He recovered, and eventually was sent back to the states for further rehabilitation. Mr. Griffin is a wonderful man, and one of the kindest and most caring people you will ever meet. He is also fiercely patriotic and loves his country.
“I want to thank you so much for the book and everything else including the cap and shirt. I will wear them with pride. I also would like to thank you very much for the beautiful birthday message you sent. I am enjoying the book so much I can not put it down. Thanks for everything.”
