LOVE, HONOR, SACRIFICE and COUNTRY
The song lyrics are from our COMES A SOLDIER’S WHISPER’s poem with singing and music rendition by Allen Harle, son of Robert Harle, a decorated 101st Airborne of the 502nd PIR, who knew and fought along side my father, David Tharp during WWII.
Comes A Soldier’s Whisper did a special feature and story in honor of Robert Harle on March 31, 2014. Robert and his son, Allen are shown in the photo today. Allen’s son is currently serving in Afghanistan and will soon complete his 20 year career in the military service to his country.
Allen’s brother Greg Harle served in Vietnam and like father, like son, received a Bronze Star medal and Purple Heart for his service and sacrifice.
We hope to get the message out there, as the song reveals that war changes a soldier. It changes his family too. We pray and ask “what we can do.”
Give a visit to Operation First Response or the organization of your choice to help and assist our veterans transitioning form the military back to civilian life. After all, we are all connected and family in some way or another. This benefits us all in the end.

Fathers, brothers, sons
Who fought to save this country
For each and everyone
Comes a soldier’s whisper
With history in his words
Barely heard while fighting
With many battles he endured
Letters – those words written long ago
To a soldier of today, they still ring true,
Letters – about how war can change a man,
Not just a man but his heart and family, too.
May those letters help us know what we should do.
So let’s embrace our soldiers today
Upon their return from yesterday,
To help them heal a heart of war
And become once again
Who they were before…
Before and during battles
And after change of mind
