Today we presented over 60 kindergarten children with our first military children’s book, When Daddy Comes Home with a message of love and understanding our Soldiers.

Fifteen of the children had family members who served and are serving today. This included grandfathers, fathers, mothers and an uncle. They proudly called out the branches of service, Navy, Army and Marines. When I asked if they knew what our Soldiers and Veterans do, they answered, “They protect us!” There was a great deal of interaction with other unexpected comments such as, “They fight for our freedom” and “They keep us safe.”

The primary topic was Veterans Day and to talk about becoming an author. Each child was presented with a handcrafted booklet to author their first book. Our 5 year-old twin grandsons, Nate and Beau who are also featured in the book and in this photo showed their support during the reading.

We are very proud to partner with Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation with a portion of book proceeds going toward educating children whose parents paid the ultimate sacrifice.
