“The news is good around the globe tonight. We seem to be doing good all over the glove. Il listen to the news every chance I get. Sure hope I don’t have to go back again. But one never knows.”
~ David Clinton Tharp 101st Airborne, 502nd PIR WW2
This was written in one over over a few hundred letters by my father in February 1945, after he survived D-Day, Carentan, Holland and the Battle of the Bulge.
My airborne father loved communications and, I suppose that is why he was a radio communicator for his group. There were many of them. Dad is pictured here with his helmet. He was articulate, well spoken and wrote beautiful letters. My mother saved every single one of them. That special time in history and their memory is forever preserved in the book, Comes A Soldier’s Whisper. For an excerpt, review, interviews, visit www.ComesASoldiersWhisper.com
Rest in peace Dad. This veteran tribute page is all for you and the soldier’s who protect us each and every day.
God Bless our troops and their families!
