The first picture is of my father and myself as a child.
Dad, Neal Huelsman a CPO, was in the Navy during WWII and stayed a career Navy man afterward. We did not see my extended family much at all because we all moved around a lot. My dad’s brother Glenn Huelsman was with the P51s during the war and also remained a career Air Force man after the war.
The group photo shows my dad in the second row up and second from the left. He was a machinist mate aboard the USS John Land homeward bound. They had one near miss by Japanese Kamikazes. Their ship also delivered General MacArthur to the Philippines along with their president.
The airplane photo is of my Uncle Clarence who flew the B17 that he is standing in front of during WWII. I believe he was stationed in England.
Dad was a plank owner of the USS Enterprises, the first nuclear aircraft carrier. He was in the Cuban blockade with the Enterprise. He was also on the USS Wasp when they recovered the astronauts.
