My father and his brother went to war together in WWII. My father lost his brother in Italy.
I’m a veteran also and was with Air Defense. I don’t like to focus on myself, but rather on the ones that never returned from war. My two sons, Blaine and Logan, were with the 101st 2nd/327inf. They deployed together to Afghanistan in the same unit. I lost my oldest son, Blaine in June of 2010. He was 22 only years old. He was KIA with four other Heroes. There were 55 KIA’s on the tour that my son never returned from. Their unit is known as “No Slack” 1st BCT Bastogne.
The group photo is in the mountains of Afghanistan showing Blaine in the lower right corner. The photo in black and white shows me with my son, Logan at ta No Slack reunion. Here is also a picture of me with Lonnie Ford in the red shirt. He is the reason that the Honor & Remember Displays were started by Bill Williams. I think they have all the states covered now.
I am very active with groups that focus on that cause such as Remembering Our Fallen @ www.facebook.com/RememberingOurFallen?pnref=lhc
Losing a child in war is the worst thing in the world a person can go though. I go to Ft. Campbell for my son’s unit reunion every year.
