My father, Edward A. Grosek, Sr. was born in 1919.
He joined the service right out of Penn State with a degree in Engineering and became a Captain with “C” Battery 449th, AAA AW MBL.
I wrote this poem back in 1999 for my Dad and Father-in-law Joe Grant who was a Supply Sargent. The shadow box with empty casings in the first picture and my father are from the 21 gun salute fired at the grave site for my father. he was a contractor after the war with his brother Tony, a Navy man and built a number of multi million dollar high-rises, schools, churches, hospitals and more.

Joe traveled the same areas in Europe as my Dad. My Dad and Joe told each other stories from their experiences. I wish that I had listened more.

The last picture is of Joe who passed away in 1998.
