Our Mother was born in Loving, New Mexico in 1930.
She met our father who was born in Mexico and got married there where 6 of us kids were born in Mexico. Our oldest brother Valente joined the Army and another brother joined the Navy. Our sister served too. I Joined the Marines and another brother served in the Air Force.
In 1955 our parents decided to bring us back to United States where all six of us were born in Palomas across from Redford, Texas. When we crossed legally, the Immigration officer gave our mother and all of us the wrong form for a Permanent Resident card. We should have received Duel Citizenship. Now after we went and did what President Kennedy said, “Don’t ask what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country”, we joined the Military Valente went into the Army 1965-1968 and was awarded the Bronze Star in Vietnam. Manuel went into the U.S. Marines 1971-1974 and served in Vietnam in 1971-1972.
In 2009 we received removal notice from Homeland Security to appear in Immigration court in Denver, Colorado and on November 10, 2010 we came out on Channel 13 in Colorado Springs to talk about our cause regarding deported Veterans. After that interview we had Deported Military Veterans calling us for help, legal advice and how to proceed through the complex system. Since then we have been fighting to bring our Deported Military Veteran Brothers back to their Families. Please visit our website and watch the interviews to learn more about our cause. We need your support @ www.valenzuelabrothers.com/deported-veterans.html
I departed early this morning to appear at the DNC to protest the deportation of those who served honorably. A funding page has been created to raise funds in support of this worthy cause www.gofundme.com/j5z540
